Fabric Expansion Joints
Constituent of Flexible Material
The outer layer of the expansion joints is exposed to variety of gas and the structure must be flexible. It features high resistance chemicals and allows movement in all directions. The composition of material can be Fluoroelastomer and PTFE.
The thermal layer ensures that temperature on the inner part of the expansion joint does contain the required temperature.
For high temperature and acidity places the insulation pillow blankets are used. The bolster is secure by frames both sides, proper position is done by using welded pins with speed washers.
Single layer
Single layer belts are a combination of reinforcing plies and non-permeable laminates. These materials are vulcanized together to form a single rugged unit impervious to flue gases and very resistant to flue gas acids, oils, chemicals, and heat. Different belts will offer various degrees of abrasion resistance. Single layer belts are offered in either PTFE (Fluoroplastic),
Elastomer or Fluoroelastomer varieties.

Various high temperature metarials are used.

This expansion joints can withstand system temperatures of 200 °C to 500 °C continues temperature up to 550 °C

Insulation Pillows
The Bolster Insulation and pillows are used to protect the flexible element from high heat temperature and prevent fly ash from filling the expansion joint. This pillows are fastener, It allows bolster insulation pillow in place during motions and flow pressure, and prevents separation from the angle during axial extension which allows heat paths (and particulate) access to the expansion joint.
